2021 Jeep Gladiator: Gladiator was all new for 2020. It's a midsize, off-road capable pickup truck that seats 5 passengers. It come only as a crew cab with a 5-foot cargo bed. For 2021, Gladiator gets its promised diesel engine option and well as a few trim and equipment changes. Competitors include the Chevrolet Colorado, Ford Ranger, GMC Canyon, Honda Ridgeline, Nissan Frontier and Toyota Tacoma.

Like the Wrangler upon which Gladiator is based, only 4-wheel drive is offered. Trim levels include Sport, Overland, Mojave and Rubicon. Engine choices include a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 285 horsepower and the new turbodiesel 3.0-liter V6 that makes 260 horsepower. Gas engine buyers can select between either an 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission. The diesel comes only with the automatic. Maximum towing capacity is rated at 7,650 pounds.

Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from $41,000 to $55,000.
