2021 Jeep Cherokee: Cherokee is a compact crossover that seats 5 passsengers and is only available as a 4-door wagon. For 2021, Jeep adds additional standard equipement and safety features and rolls out a new trim and Anniversary edition. Competitors include the Chevrolet Equinox, Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-5, Subaru Forester, Nissan Rogue and Toyota RAV4.

Front-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive being optional. Trims inclulde  Latitude, Latitude Plus, Lattitude Lux, Trailhawk and Limited. Powertrain choices include a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder that makes 180 horsepower, a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that makes 270 horsepower and a 3.2-liter V6 that makes 271 horsepower. All engines mate to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity is rated at 2,000 pounds.

Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from $29,000 to $40,000.
