2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport: The Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is all-new for 2020, with the stylish Atlas variant ushering a new segment of coupe-like crossovers for VW in the U.S. Atlas Cross Sport seats 5 passengers and is available only as a 4-door wagon. Competitors include the Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Edge, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mazda CX-5 and Nissan Murano.
Front-wheel drive is standard with four-wheel drive being optional. Eight trims are available: S, SE, SE w Tech, SE w Tech R-Line, SEL, SEL R-Line, SEL Premium, and SEL Premium R-Line. Two engines are offered: A 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 235 horsepower and a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 276 horsepower. Both pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity is rated at 5,000 pounds.
Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing has yet to be announced.
