2020 Buick Encore: The Encore is a subcompact crossover that seats 5 passengers and is only available as a 4-door wagon. Mechincally unchanged for 2020, the Encore loses its optional engine. Encore is avaiable with front- or all-wheel drive. Competitors include the Chevy Trax, Ford EcoSport, Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, Nissan Rogue Sport and Toyota C-HR.
Front-wheel-drive is standard with all-wheel-drive being optional. Four trims are available: Base, Preferred, Sport Touring and Essence. One engine is offered: A 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 138 horsepower and pairs with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from $23,000 to $30,000.
