Honda Pilot
2016 HONDA PILOT: Honda held the global premiere of the all-new 2016 Honda Pilot SUV at last year's Chicago Auto Show. On display again at the 108th annual Chicago Auto Show, the third generation of Honda's three-row midsize sporty utility vehicle was designed, developed and manufactured in America. While the Pilot is lighter than before, it is also more rigid and tightly sealed, plus delivers more refined, powerful and fuel-efficient performance via the new 3.5-liter, a direct-injected i-VTEC V-6 engine with variable cylinder management cylinder deactivation technology. Rated at a healthy 280-horsepower, the new engine is mated to one of two advanced new transmissions - a Pilot-first six-speed automatic transmission, or on upper trims, a Honda first nine-speed automatic transmission. Buyers have their choice of front-wheel or Honda's completely new all-wheel-drive system that delivers even more efficient all-weather performance. The '16 Pilot gained three and a half inches in overall length and weighs in at almost 300 pounds lighter than the previous model. Visually, the all-new design is sleek, yet has a muscular form, now sporting brighter and more efficient LED projector headlights with auto high beam technology, available signature LED daytime running lights and taillights, plus available 20-inch wheels and a first-ever panoramic roof option. Some of the technological highlights include a multi-view rearview camera, eight-inch touch-screen display with an Android-based operating system, lane keeps assist and departure warning and Honda's road departure mitigation system. Chicago Auto Show Fact: More than 1.4 million Pilots have been built and sold in North America since the first-generation model launched...which represents nearly a quarter of Honda's light truck sales over that period.
