BMW 2 Series Convertible

2015 BMW 2 Series Convertible:  On display for the first time at the Chicago Auto Show is the exciting 2015 BMW 228i and M235i convertibles, the rightful successors to the BMW 1 Series convertible. The 228i and M235i subcompact droptops are available with rear wheel drive or with BMW xDrive, the company’s intelligent all-wheel drive system.  In addition to the flagship model, the M235i, powered by an in-line six-cylinder gasoline engine with M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology and 320 horsepower, the market launch of the BMW 2 Series Convertible is also available as a 228i, featuring an in-line four cylinder with BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology and 240 horsepower.   All engines are available with either a six speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed Steptronic Sport Automatic transmission for improved performance and an 18 percent improvement in fuel economy and emissions figures compared to its predecessor.  The BMW 228i convertible sprints from 0-to- 60 in 7.5 seconds, and the BMW M235i version achieves 0-to-60 in 5.2 seconds.  Intelligent connectivity between driver, vehicle and outside world is another feature of the BMW 2 Series Convertible, and built-in SIM card supports the LTE wireless standard. The new high-speed internet technology provides much faster data transfer rates. A driver assist package adds the camera-based systems Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Warning as well as the Attention Assistant.  Expect the ’15 BMW 2 Series convertibles to be arriving in US showrooms around the same time as the 107th annual Chicago Auto Show, Feb. 14-22, 2015.
