Rolls-Royce Phantom

2014 ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM: Without question, one of the most opulent and luxurious vehicles on exhibit at the 106th annual Chicago Auto Show (Feb. 8-14), is the 2014 Rolls-Royce Phantom four-door sedan. With a suggested price of $453,290, the '14 Phantom maintains a timeless elegance. It’s a modern interpretation of the classic proportions, presence and splendid detailing that is legendary to Roll-Royce since 1904. Every 2014 Phantom is hand-built at the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood in England. From seamstresses to surface finish technicians and French polishers, it takes 60 pairs of hands to design, craft and construct a Rolls-Royce before it's ready for its owner. While admiring the ’14 Rolls-Royce Phantom at the Chicago show, note the bold and distinctive chrome plated aluminum grille, long hood and the beautiful Spirit of Ecstasy mascot. A long wheelbase is crucial to achieve the classic Rolls-Royce look; and the roofline needs to blend into a wide 'C' pillar. The five-passenger Phantom features rear-hinged coach doors, discreet rear window, and the diameter of the 21-inch wheel and tires are roughly half the height of the car. Tailored trunk offers 16.2 cu. ft. of luggage room. At the heart Phantom is an all-aluminum 6.75-liter V-12 engine that produces 453 horsepower and an incredible 531 lb ft of torque. With a gross vehicle weight of 6724 pounds, the Phantom can still fly from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 5.7seconds and reach a governed top speed of 149 mph.
