The current generation is in its second model-year, and it competes with vehicles like the Ford Edge and Toyota Highlander. For 2017, it sees minor changes, gaining a few new option packages and some new tech features, such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.The Sorento offers a choice of three engines: A 2.4-liter four-cylinder that makes 185 horsepower; a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 240 horsepower; and a 3.3-liter V6 that makes 290 horsepower. EPA-estimated fuel economy ranges from 17 mpg city to 28 mpg highway. The Sorento has a six-speed automatic transmission and is front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive available.The Sorento is available in L, LX, EX, SX and SXL trims, with the SX and SXL only available with the V6. Available features include fog lamps, rear spoiler, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, USB, Bluetooth, navigation, leather seats, heated front seats, cooled front seats, heated second-row seats, heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, push-button start and power liftgate.Available safety features include stability control, traction control, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot detection, lane-departure warning system, forward-collision warning system, autonomous emergency braking, rear-view camera, 360-degree camera and dual-front, front-side and side-curtain airbags.The 2017 Kia Sorento has a base price of $25,400, not including destination and dealer fees.
