2017 Kia Optima: The 2017 Kia Optima carries over unchanged. This five-seat mid-size competes with the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, and Toyota Camry. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid models are available.The Optima offers three engines: A 2.4-liter four-cylinder that makes 185 horsepower, a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 178 horsepower, and a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 245 horsepower. The 2.4-liter engine and the 2.0-liter engine mate to six-speed automatics, while the 1.6-liter mates to a seven-speed automatic. The Optima is front-wheel drive and EPA-estimated fuel economy ranges from 22 mpg city to 46 mpg highway. The hybrid combines an electric motor and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine for 192 total system horsepower while the plug-in hybrid has a similar setup that makes 202 total system horsepower.Available features include panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, satellite radio, USB, Bluetooth, navigation, premium audio, heated steering wheel, heated/cooled front seats, heated rear seats, and leather seats.Available safety features include anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, autonomous emergency braking, front-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and dual-front, front-side, driver-knee and side-curtain airbags.
