2017 Ford Escape: For 2017 the Ford Escape is refreshed. This five-seat compact crossover SUV competes with vehicles like the Chevrolet Equinox, Honda CR-V and Jeep Renegade. Changes for 2017 include two new engines, new tech features and a significantly reworked interior.The Escape offers three engines. The first is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 168 horsepower. The second is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 179 horsepower and the third is a 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 245 horsepower. The base engine is available with front-wheel drive, while the other two are available with front-wheel or all-wheel drive. All three engines mate to a six-speed automatic transmission. EPA-estimated fuel-economy is rated at 21 mpg city/29 mpg highway for the base engine, 23/30 for the 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (22/28 with all-wheel drive) and 22/29 (20/27 with all-wheel drive).The Escape is available in three trim levels: S, SE and Titanium. Available features include infotainment system, power liftgate, adaptive cruise control, navigation system, satellite radio and heated steering wheel.Available safety features include dual-front, side-impact, side-curtain and driver's knee airbags; stability control, traction control, collision warning, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and rear-park assist.The 2017 Ford Escape has a base price of $23,600, excluding destination and delivery fees.
