Scion FR-S

2016 SCION FR-S: A favorite among car enthusiasts, the Scion exciting FR-S sports coupe adds enhanced handling and stability for the 2016 model year. Scion explains that the letters 'FR-S' stand for Front-engine/Rear-wheel drive /Sport. It's Scion's definition of an authentic rear-wheel-drive sports car. Pop the hood, and examine the 2.0-liter, naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that is the result of a joint development between Toyota and Subaru. The flat-four creates a 12.5:1 compression ratio, as well as an impressive 200-horsepower and mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and dynamic rev management technology. The FR-S's low weight (2,758 with manual to 2,806 pounds with automatic) is complimented by a dynamically tuned suspension setup. The fierce exterior of the FR-S is remarkably sleek and low, with a menacing face, aggressive sporty dual exhaust system, and LEDs illuminate the edgy taillights. New this model year is a more streamlined shark-fin antenna, auto on/off headlights and new key design. An intergraded rearview backup camera is standard. Opening the door reveals a low and comfortable 2+2 passenger cockpit, displaying a large center-mounted tachometer, the focus of the three-gauge cluster. The FR-S is available in seven colors including Raven, Asphalt, Hot Lava, Steel and Halo (a pearl white paint, for an additional $395 fee). For 2016, the FR-S also comes in Ablaze red and Oceanic blue. A new standard audio system features a large seven-inch touchscreen display and voice recognition technology, as well as an eight-speaker sound package, Bluetooth hands-free and audio streaming connectivity, HD radio. Options include BeSpoke audio system. push-to-talk voice navigation and geo-located points of interest, Aha available on iTunes and Google Play, provides access to 100,000 free audio stations, including Scion's own seven signature music channels. The compact FR-S is Scion's new halo car, expanding the brand into a new dimension of driving performance.
