2016 DODGE DURANGO: For 2016, the Durango sport utility features engine stop-start technology standard on all models, which include SXT, Limited, R/T and Citadel. Available rear-wheel and all-wheel drive setups are offered to enhance driver confidence by leveraging the SUV's 50/50 weight distribution. Actually, there are two AWD systems - one for the 360-horsepower 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 and one for the 290-hp 3.6L Pentastar V-6 powered models. This year, all Dodge Durangos feature Chrysler Group's new eight-speed automatic transmission with rotary shifter and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters as standard equipment. On models equipped with the Pentastar V-6 engine, the Durango can tow up to 6,200 pounds. When coupled with the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine, the Durango offers trailer tow capability of up to 7,400 pounds - more weight than a 24-foot boat and trailer. Second-row captain's chairs are offered for the Durango, as well as nappa leather with ventilated front seats on R/T models. With standard seven-passenger seating and luxurious second-row captain's chairs available on all models, the seats in the Durango can be converted to as many as 50 different configurations. There are more than 30 storage areas and a rear payload room of nearly 85 cubic feet that fits a six-foot couch with room for a coffee table. Obtainable technology on the Durango R/T and top-of-the-level Citadel is blind spot/rear cross-path detection, as well as features such as Uconnect Web and rear-seat DVD entertainment system. There are four all-new exterior paint colors offered for '16: Red Pearl, Luxury Brown, Light Brownstone and Ivory Pearl tri-coat.
