2016 ASTON MARTIN DB9 GT: Aston Martin's iconic DB9 GT Coupe is a front mid-mounted engine, rear-wheel drive sports grand tourer with an exterior that integrates bonded aluminum, magnesium alloy and composite materials. Bringing the DBG GT to life is a 5.9-liter V-12 that develops 540-horsepower and a massive 620-lbs. of torque. As the most powerful in DB9's history, the engine is mated to a six-speed transmission with electronic shift-by-wire control system. An alloy torque tube with carbon fiber propeller shaft is employed with a limited-slip differential and a 3.46:1 final drive ratio. With little effort the DB9 sprints from 0-to-60 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds, and has a governed maximum speed of 183-mph. The DB9 GT braking system employs advanced carbon ceramic brakes. Hi-tech lighting includes single bi-xenon headlamps with integrated LED side lights and clear LED rear lamps. The DB9 two-door body style offers a 2+2 seating configuration, using luxurious fluted leather hides, piano black trim, GT headrest embroidery, new Ami II infotainment system, 700-watt Aston Martin Premium audio system with Dolby Pro Logic. A rear parking assist camera is standard, and a tailored cargo room can carry up to 6.6 cu. ft. of luggage. The example at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show, Feb. 13-21, has a base MSRP of $198,250.
